PAINTINGS

My recent paintings have been urgently fluctuating into these moments where i find comfort in the in-between of reality and the cosmos— not the here or there —as if i'm shifting between suns —-----creating a center that exists on the seemingly peripheries of giant realities—- thus naturally rethinking border as more of an epicenter ——which essentially turns into the realization of a post-borders reality—- and as i paint —-i ask myself if this is a step into a some sort of abstraction or is this part of the decolonization process

“We are the people who leap in the dark, we are the people on the knees of gods. In our flesh, (r)evolution works out the clash of cultures. It makes us crazy constantly, but if the center holds, we’ve made some kind of evolutionary step forward. Nuestra alma el trabajo, the opus, the alchemical work; spiritual mestizaje, a “morphogenesis,” an inevitable unfolding. We have become the quickening serpent movement’

These paintings seem to act as ruptures that evolve into un cosmico fenómeno- —  i believe only painting can capture this - ancestors would mark walls and animal skins as if this was the only way to track visions—  to visualize beauty and love—- —

im painting in a trance- not really thinking of what to paint just letting a centrality unfold before me– slowly each painting starts to form into a cohesive group - as i compose the evidence the paintings start to stare back at me with a more psychological connection confirming new possibilities or maybe the beginnings of a new dream
